ROSE QUARTZ GUA SHA

Sale price$25.80

An ancient tool. A precise application.

Gua sha has been practiced in Chinese medicine for centuries — not as a beauty ritual, but as a clinical technique for moving stagnation, relieving tension, and restoring circulation to congested tissue.

Applied to the face with the right pressure and intention, it does something no topical product can: it works mechanically. Moving fluid, releasing fascia, stimulating blood flow, and supporting the movement of lymphatic fluid through the densest concentration of lymph nodes in the human body.

The head and neck region contains approximately 300 lymph nodes — nearly 40% of the body's total lymphatic network. This density exists because the face and throat are the body's primary entry points for pathogens. When lymphatic flow in this area is sluggish, the visible result is puffiness, dullness, and a loss of facial definition. Gua sha addresses this mechanically, not chemically.

Why rose quartz

This tool is carved from natural rose quartz and hand-finished. The material is not decorative — it is functional.

Stone has a lower thermal conductivity than metal or synthetic materials. It stays closer to room temperature against the skin, which means less vascular response during use and a more consistent glide. The natural variation in the stone's surface also provides a subtle texture that aids grip without compromising the tool's movement across the skin.

Each piece is hand-polished. The edges are curved to follow the natural contours of the face — jawline, cheekbone, orbital bone, and neck — without requiring adaptation in technique.

What it does

Circulation — the mechanical pressure of gua sha against the skin stimulates blood flow to the surface, delivering oxygen and nutrients to skin cells. Increased circulation supports the production of collagen and elastin — not through chemistry, but through the skin's own response to physical stimulus.

Lymphatic support — slow, directional strokes support the movement of lymphatic fluid toward the lymph nodes of the neck, helping to reduce puffiness and restore facial contour. This is distinct from clinical Manual Lymphatic Drainage — gua sha works at a surface level, complementing rather than replacing professional technique.

Fascial release — sustained, directional pressure along the jaw, neck, and temples releases tension held in the fascial layers beneath the skin. This eases chronic tightness from expression, stress, and jaw clenching — something no topical product reaches.

Muscle tension — the face contains over 40 muscles, many of which hold chronic tension. Gua sha releases this through consistent, directional movement — easing tightness in the jaw, temples, and neck.

Product absorption — used with facial oil, gua sha enhances the skin's receptivity to active ingredients by improving local circulation and tissue perfusion. Better-nourished, more oxygenated skin absorbs what you apply to it more effectively.

How to use

Always use with a facial oil or serum — never on dry skin.

Apply your oil first. Hold the tool at a 15–30 degree angle to the skin — flatter is gentler, more upright is more targeted. Use light, consistent pressure. Always move in an upward and outward direction on the face; downward along the neck toward the collarbone.

Use an even lighter touch around the eye area. Never drag or apply pressure directly over active breakouts, inflamed skin, or broken capillaries.

Consistency matters more than pressure. Three minutes daily is more effective than thirty minutes once a week.

Care instructions

Clean after each use with warm water and a gentle cleanser. Dry thoroughly. Store away from direct sunlight to preserve the stone. Natural rose quartz may have slight variations in colour and texture — this is characteristic of the material, not a defect.
